Young girl counting coins in to jars

Counting Collections encourages number interactions through play. Children direct their own learning within established play contexts while teachers enhance the learning experience by playing the role of commenters, coplayers, questioners, or demonstrators of new ways to interact with the materials. EEF are funding an evaluation of Counting Collections as part of a commissioning round on early years teaching and learning which aims to address the lack of evidence for this age group compared to older pupils.
