Leading self

Transform your personal impact as a leader by examining a range of practical methods including emotional awareness, honest conversations and presence.

Who the course is aimed at

We invite applications from mid- and senior-level professionals who are keen to understand and develop their personal leadership knowledge, skills and confidence.

Benefits for you and your business

Self-motivated leaders are essential to business growth.

On this course, you’ll learn to approach your senior or leadership position with confidence.

Tackling topics like emotional awareness and honest conversations, you’ll learn to apply personal leadership models and techniques to your own career.

You’ll also examine your own professional motivations — leaving the one-day event ready to improve your personal impact, performance, presence and satisfaction.

Course Overview

The course is structured in three main sections, supported throughout by academic staff.

  • Firstly, you will consider your personal leadership knowledge, skills, motivations and competence.
  • You will then examine a range of practical models to enhance your personal leadership
  • Finally, you will develop an action plan to further enhance your personal leadership knowledge, skills and competence for your own benefit and your organisation's performance.

We invite course participants to seek feedback from colleagues and your line manager before attending the course and to use this during the programme as a source of insight for how you can develop. This can be in the form of a simple question sheet or a psychometric assessment if you prefer.

Delivery Methods

Our teaching methods are work-based and centred around the principles of active learning.

You’ll learn practical concepts and apply them to your real-life work projects. You’ll reflect on your real-world experiences as well as what you learn on the course. You’ll also learn from the rest of your cohort.

We will support your learning with examples, case studies, class discussions, small group work and personal reflection.
