International Women's Day

On 8th March 2021 the University's Chancellor, Baroness Helena Kennedy QC, joined us to lead a panel of Hallam women academics to celebrate International Women's Day.

"A challenged world is an alert world. Individually, we're all responsible for our own thoughts and actions - all day, every day. We can choose to challenge and call out gender bias and inequity. We can choose to seek out and celebrate women's achievements. Collectively, we can all help create an inclusive world. From challenge comes change, so let's all choose to challenge.”

The event celebrated the fantastic work women at our University are doing to challenge gender inequality, as well as highlighting why there’s still much further to go.

Dr Sally Jackson, ULT Champion for Gender and Chief People Officer, introduced the event.
