After your application

What happens next

Those who apply by phone for non-shortlisting courses can expect a decision on the spot. We respond to online applications within a working day.

If you haven't been successful, we'll let you know by email so you can consider your next steps right away.

Successful applicants will receive an offer letter in which you’ll be directed to UCAS Hub to refer yourself. Afterwards, you'll receive an official notification  UCAS Hub, which forms your final, legally binding offer.

Shortlisting courses and selection events

If you’re applying for a shortlisting course, you’ll be referred to an academic to arrange an online interview. We’ll let you know if this applies so you can start getting prepared right away.

Preparing for your selection event

Be prepared to attend the selection event at short notice, possibly even the same day. Details of what you will need to prepare will be included on your invite to interview email.

Get your accommodation

At Sheffield Hallam we guarantee to find you a place to live with bills included, but it's a good idea to think about your accommodation once you've secured a place.

You can apply online and track your application progress using the student ID in your offer email. But please be aware that you may need to wait 48 hours after receiving your offer.

If you're applying for accommodation before A level results day, make sure to accept your offer on the UCAS Hub first. Before this you can use your CLR number to apply, replacing the CLR with an X.

If you've any queries, call our accommodation helpline on 0330 024 6390.
