Your graduation checklist

We can’t wait to celebrate your big day with you. Follow these simple steps to make sure you're all set for your ceremony.

VISA SUPPORT

If you’re an international student, find out about visa requirements when travelling from overseas.

Visa support letters for graduates and guests can be downloaded through My Student Record. For help with visa applications please contact the International Experience Team.

 

1. Check your details

  • Make sure everything's up to date in the My Details section of My Student Record.
  • Check your personal email address is correct so we can contact you about graduation after your student email address expires.

2. Book your tickets

  • You must book tickets to attend your ceremony.
  • We'll email you when your award is confirmed, to let you know you can book your tickets.
  • See how many tickets you can book, how much they cost and how to reserve them.

3. Order your gown

  • Book your gown through Ede & Ravenscroft.
  • You'll collect and have it fitted on the day of your ceremony at Owen Building, City Campus.
  • Before booking, have your height, head and chest measurements ready.

Gowns are not compulsory, but most graduates wear them as the ceremony is a formal event.

4. Pre-order photos

  • Skip the queue by pre-ordering your graduation photos through Ede & Ravenscroft.
  • You can also order them on the day if you prefer - there's no deadline.

5. Order your film and free clip

  • Don't miss a moment - order your graduation film, capturing the whole ceremony.
  • You can also register for a free clip of your big moment on stage.

6. Plan travel, celebrations and accommodation

7. Download or print your tickets

  • Bring printed or digital copies of all your tickets with you.
  • We’ll email you when they’re available - usually a week before your ceremony.
  • Download them from the ‘My e-Ticket’ link on My Student Record. Don't forget to give your guests their tickets – they'll need them to enter the Graduation Hall.
