Your timetable: what to expect

We’ve co-designed your timetable in partnership with Hallam Students’ Union. Our goal is to make your studies as manageable and flexible as possible.

We’ll always aim to follow these principles. It is worth noting that some courses may need to take a different approach.

When teaching happens

  • Monday to Thursday: 9am – 7pm
  • Friday: 9am – 5pm

Fewer days on campus

  • Most students will have teaching no more than three days a week. This helps you balance study, work and personal time

Balanced study days

  • You won’t have more than 4 hours of teaching in a row without a break
  • We’ll try to avoid long gaps (over 3 hours) between your on-campus sessions

When you’ll get your timetable

  • For returning students, your timetable will be available at least 4 weeks before your course starts
  • For new students and those who have completed foundation years, your timetable will be available at the start of Welcome Week

What this means for you

  • Fewer trips to campus
  • More structured days
  • Less waiting around between sessions
  • A timetable you can plan your life around
