It couldn’t be easier to access careers support at Hallam. You’ll have a dedicated careers and employability team including Employability Advisers, a breadth of digital careers support and access to the service on campus. Here are just some of the ways we can help you.

Earn while you learn

Looking for part-time work while you study? A good place to start is UniHub, where we list hundreds of jobs. You can also meet employers at the Hallam Careers Fair in October and many students choose to work on campus or at the Students’ Union.

If you’re in the UK on a student visa, you can normally work for up to 20 hours per week, but we recommend working 15 hours during term time.

Get work experience

Develop your skills and impress employers with internships and volunteering opportunities in Sheffield and beyond. You can also boost your degree with a year-long paid work placement. By adding real-world examples to your work, you’ll receive an Applied Professional Diploma in addition to your degree, helping you stand out to future employers.
