Whenever you interact with the university, whether you are a student here or not, you should expect to be treated with respect and feel welcome. We work hard to ensure that all staff in our team are trained to support and champion students from LGBTQ+ communities. So much so we created a dedicated LGBTQ+ taskforce.
What do we do?
- Facilitate LGBTQ+ inclusivity training for our staff.
- Develop mandatory training for all our student ambassadors.
- Create dedicated social media posts to share resources and raise the voices of those in LGBTQ+ communities.
- Visits into local schools and colleges to hear directly from students what they want and need from us.
- Work alongside our students who are LGBTQ+ to devise our offer and learn how we can keep improving.
- Feed into university policy to make sure prospective students and applicants are considered in their design.
