If you already have a degree, our postgraduate courses could help you train to become a teacher in just one or two years.
Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)
Our PGCE courses embed teaching fundamentals while giving you significant experience in a school, college or early years setting.
By choosing this route you can qualify to teach in early years, primary, secondary or post-16 levels.
To do a PGCE, you’ll need an undergraduate degree. Ideally, this will be in the subject you intend to teach.
How to apply
Explore your options by looking at the PGCE courses we offer. You can apply for your course through the DfE Apply webpage
Subject knowledge enhancement (SKE)
If you don't meet the criteria to teach the subject you want at secondary school, you can study a subject knowledge enhancement course.
Many of these courses are fully funded through the Department of Education (DfE). You could also be eligible for a bursary while you study.
