Enrolment FAQs

When does University start?

For most standard courses, Welcome Week starts on Monday 14 September 2026.  Your Course Induction Schedule details the sessions you need to attend.

We typically send enrolment invitations one to two weeks before your course start date. Please check the account you used for to apply, and remember to check your spam and junk folders.

How do I activate my account?

I have tried to enrol but am having problems with my login?

I have been reminded to enrol but I have already done it?

Please make sure that you have both activated your account and engaged with the enrolment task, which you can find in the 'Time to enrol at Sheffield Hallam' email, or via the link on the Enrol online page.

It says I am conditionally enrolled, what does this mean?

If you are conditionally enrolled, we will communicate with you to explain what is outstanding and what you need to do to fully enrol, please check your Hallam email regularly. Further information is available on the Conditional enrolment page.

How do I get my student ID (SHUcard)?

Once you have activated your account and fully enrolled, you can Get your SHUcard.

I am an international student; how do I get help to enrol?

All the information you need is on the International arrivals pages.

I am returning to study, what do I need to do?

Once you have been progressed to your next academic year of study you will receive an email invitation to re-enrol. The subject line of the email is 'Time to enrol at Sheffield Hallam'. If you can’t find the email , please check your spam and junk mail folders.
