🔄 DBS Update Service – What It Is
The Update Service allows your DBS certificate to be transferable, meaning other organisations can check it online.
📄 Already Have a DBS Certificate?
You may be able to use your existing DBS to enrol instead of applying for a new one, if:
- Education courses: Your certificate must be Enhanced Child with Barred List
- Health courses: Your certificate must be Enhanced Child & Adult with Barred List
📍 You’ll need to attend a face-to-face check with your certificate and photo ID so we can run an update service check.

💷 Adding Your DBS to the Update Service
- Cost: £16 per year (not covered by the university)
- You must subscribe within 30 days of your certificate being issued
