A letter from our Vice-Chancellor
Students and staff are returning to Sheffield Hallam University for the start of the new academic year, and I understand that our local communities may have questions about the University’s plans for the start of term. I wanted to provide an update to our local communities on the new measures we have put in place to ensure that our students, staff and wider community are as safe as possible.
Six-figure grant awarded to explore the benefits of golf for people with Parkinson's and dementia
Sheffield Hallam University has teamed up with Golf in Society (GiS) and Sport for Confidence to explore how golf can improve the health, wellbeing and quality of life for older adults who are experiencing age-related changes such as memory loss, episodes of confusion or reduced ability to concentrate.
Virtual Reality offers an immersive, interactive and evocative experience to demonstrate the unpredictability of fire
Sheffield Hallam Games lecturer, Dr Tom Garner, has his virtual reality simulation, FireSIM, demonstrated at the IFIRE Conference in Massachusetts, USA. FireSIM is an immersive experience simulating consequences of arson. Designed for convicted arsonists as part of their rehabilitation and developed with cutting-edge games technologies to produce an evocative experience.
