Therapeutic Groups

Therapeutic groups are usually run for six consecutive weeks. A wellbeing practitioner needs to book you into these groups to to make sure that the group session is the right fit for you.   No new members join after the first week or two so that the group can develop.  Because the same group of people are together for a few weeks, there is better chance for group members to support and get to know one another.

Art Therapy (PDF, 143.5KB)

 

Art Therapy is psychological help that uses both images and talking. Sessions are facilitated by an Art Therapist who will help you explore your artwork and what it means to you. 

You do not need any experience of art making. 

This is a six week course. Sessions are 2 hours long. All sessions are in-person, on campus

Compassion-Focussed Therapy Group (PDF, 3.3MB)

 

Compassion Focussed Therapy is an evidence-based talking therapy designed to 
encourage compassion towards yourself and others. This can improve mood, self-esteem, reduce anxiety, strengthen resilience and improve your relationships with others and with yourself. 

This is a six week course. All sessions are in-person, on campus.

Wednesday 14th February

Managing Me - Effective Skills for Managing your Emotions and your Mental Health (PDF, 2.5MB)

 

This course introduces life skills for proactive mental health. It is suitable for people who experience difficulties with emotional instability and impulsivity. 

This is a six week course. All sessions are in-person, on campus.

Tuesday 13th February

LGBTQ+ group (PDF, 4.5MB)

 

Support a range of issues such as anxiety, conflict, loss, low mood, but within a rainbow peer group, facilitated by members of the LGBT Community.

Mondays 12 noon till 1.45, (2 x 45 min sessions and a short break) In person at Chaplaincy. 6 weeks. Starting November.

Report and Support - Peer Support / Survivors Group (PDF, 349.8KB)

 

Having experienced sexual violence you may feel alone and that no-one understands what you are going through. This facilitated group will bring together women with shared experiences to support each other. 

This is a six week course. All sessions are in-person, on campus. 

This group is only open to women (including trans women) To access this group you need to contact Report and Support

Tuesday 23rd January

Trauma-Informed Yoga (PDF, 408.5KB)

Yoga to help to connect your mind and body in a way that feels secure. 

It can help with nervous system dysregulation, dissociation, and feelings of disconnection from the body or surroundings, which are common after experiencing trauma. Please note this is different from the Yoga for wellbeing group - which can be booked and attended without a referral. 

This is a six week course. All sessions are in-person, on campus.
