Arriving for January 2026

To be ready for Orientation and your course induction, please plan to arrive in Sheffield by Wednesday 14 January 2026 at the latest.

Orientation will be held on Thursday 15 January. It’s a great opportunity to get useful information, settle in, and meet other students.
If you’re unable to attend on 15 January, please email us at enrolment@shu.ac.uk.

If you arrive outside of our Meet and Greet desk opening hours and you need assistance, you can call our 24-hour helpline: 0800 073 1318 – make sure to save this number before you travel.

Don't forget to contact your landlord in advance to confirm your arrival time.

Pay your fees

If you are an international postgraduate taught or undergraduate applicant you are required to pay a deposit, which will be quoted on your offer letter, before you receive your Confirmation of Acceptance for Study (CAS) from Sheffield Hallam University. 

A prepayment of £8000, less your deposit, or 100% of the tuition fee if this is less than £8000, is required on re-enrolment each year.

Before you arrive in the UK you can join our online Pre-departure Briefings, live Q&A sessions, or watch video presentations. Get answers to your preparation and arrival questions.

Once you are in Sheffield, visit our on-campus International Meet & Greet desk with your questions, as many times as you need.

  • 10am – 4pm, Monday to Friday. From 7 – 23 January 2026.

Activating your eVisa

If you are studying in the UK on a Student visa, you must activate your eVisa before your immigration documents can be checked and you can complete enrolment.

Getting your immigration documents checked

All students who have declared a nationality which is not British or Irish must attend an on-campus document checking appointment as part of the enrolment process.
