Undergraduate programmes

Our minimum entry requirement for an undergraduate degree is:

• two A level passes, and
• GCSE grades C or 4 in English Language and Maths.

Many courses have specific requirements. This might mean a certain number of UCAS points, a qualification in a certain subject, or both.

UCAS tariff points

The UCAS tariff system helps us compare grades and qualifications by turning them into points.

You get tariff points for:

• A levels,
• BTECs,
• T levels, and
• equivalent UK or international qualifications.

You can use UCAS's tariff calculator to work out how your grades and qualifications add up.

International students

English language

For most types of study, you will need an English language qualification. You'll also need one if you have to apply for a visa.

Our course pages give the level of English required as an IELTS score. This is a very common qualification, but we accept a range of others.

Qualifications

International qualifications we consider include:

• High School Leaving Certificate equivalent to A level standard,
• International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma with 28 points or more,
• other international qualifications equivalent to 13 years of secondary education.

For entry onto International Foundation programmes we will consider:

• IELTS certificate from an approved centre (IELTS score of 4.5 or above),
• good high school grades, including maths.
