Things to pack for uni

Things to pack for uni

Here are some items I've found useful to have around while living in uni accommodation:

Extension lead

An extension lead/power strip is indispensable for charging multiple devices at once, ensuring all your gadgets stay powered up and ready to go.

Personal photos and decor

Bring along some photos of friends and family or your favourite posters to decorate your room. These personal touches can make your new space feel more like home.

Removable wall hooks

Removable wall hooks are perfect for hanging items without damaging walls. They’re great for organising and personalising your space without risking your deposit.

Earplugs/headphones

Earplugs can be a lifesaver for blocking out noise while studying in the library or trying to get some rest in a busy dorm and headphones are great for your commute.

Laundry hamper

A sturdy laundry hamper with handles makes transporting your clothes to and from the laundry room much more convenient.

Umbrella and raincoat

British weather can be unpredictable, so pack a reliable umbrella and a raincoat to stay dry on your walks to and from campus.

Flip-flops or shower shoes

Flip-flops or shower shoes are essential if your accommodation has a communal bathroom. They’re also great for quickly slipping on when you need to briefly step outside.

Tech/gadgets

Your laptop or tablet will be your best friend for playing games or watching your favourite shows during downtime.

Travel mug

A travel mug is perfect for keeping your drink warm during morning lectures or study sessions in the library.

Board games or card games

Bringing a board game or a pack of cards can be a great way to break the ice and have fun with your new flatmates.

I hope your packing goes well!
