Our Student Code of Conduct and Student Charter
Everyone at Hallam has their part to play, so we've created a Student Code of Conduct and Student Charter which set out what you can do. Here are the eight ways we expect all students to behave:
- behave in a responsible manner
- act with honesty and integrity
- treat others in a considerate and courteous way and with mutual respect, including in your communications and use of social media
- respect the rights of others (including rights of free speech and academic freedom within the law)
- act as responsible members of the local community in which you live and behave as a considerate neighbour
- comply with University regulations, policies, procedures and codes of practice
- abide by the law
- adhere to university safeguarding guidelines during placement
When we uphold these standards, we keep our university a special place for everyone.

Reporting unacceptable behaviour
The Report and Support website is the designated place at Hallam for information on harassment, bullying, sexual misconduct, hate incidents and domestic / relationship abuse, including our policies, procedures, training and support. You can make a report about an incident either anonymously or with personal details and, if you would like support, our Report and Support team will contact you.
As part of your induction, you'll be required to complete a training module about harassment and sexual misconduct, as part of the University's responsibility to address these behaviours.

Registering your attendance
Your achievement whilst you study at Sheffield Hallam matters to us. To support you in achieving your full potential we register attendance on all of our courses, as regular attendance enables you to do well in your degree.
