Learn and Use Audacity for Audio Recording & Editing

We use audio for many different purposes, from recording podcasts and voiceovers to editing music, cleaning up sound, or preparing audio for video projects. Unlike images or graphics, audio requires tools that allow you to capture, edit, and enhance sound with precision.

What is Audacity

Audacity is a powerful, open-source tool for recording and editing audio, and it can be used for everything from simple voice recordings and basic edits to detailed multi-track projects and sound production.

Access Audacity

Audacity is a free, open-source application and is available for Windows, macOS, and Linux.

The application is available on AppsAnywhere when using a university PC.

You can access Audacity easily — it’s free and open-source, so you don’t need to buy anything:

1. Go to the official website: https://www.audacityteam.org
