Learn Adobe Illustrator for Vector Graphics and Design

We use graphics and illustrations for many different purposes, from designing a company logo to creating eye-catching posters or digital artwork. Unlike photos, illustrations often need to be scaled to any size without losing quality — from a business card to a billboard. 

Access to Adobe applications 

This version of Adobe is available only to students on selected courses.   
 
Students in Architecture, Art & Design, and Media, Arts & Communication may be eligible for an Adobe Creative Cloud invitation-only price plan, please check with your tutor to see if this applies to you.   
 
If you’re not on one of these courses, you can find free support for the Adobe Express application under the Creative and Design section of this site as well as other free software we recommend on these pages design pages. 

What is Adobe Illustrator 

Adobe Illustrator is the most widely-known and widely-used software for creating and editing vector graphics, and it can be used for everything from simple shapes and icons to highly detailed illustrations and professional branding designs. 

How to access 

If you are eligible for the invitation-only price plan, you can install Adobe Creative Cloud on your personal device. Otherwise, you will only have access to a trial version.  
 
If you are not eligible for the invitation-only price plan you can purchase Adobe or try the software using the free trail offer. You can find out more about Adobe Creative cloud under the free and discounted software section of MyHallam.
