Bullying is as offensive behaviour which violates a person's dignity. It can create an intimidating, hostile, degrading or offensive environment, and humiliates or undermines an individual or group.

Harassment is any behaviour which is unacceptable to the recipient and which creates an intimidating, hostile or offensive environment for employment, study or social life. It can include sexual harassment, racial harassment, stalking, victimisation

If you're experiencing bullying or harassment you have a number of options in terms of reporting whats happening and requesting action, as well as seeking support for how the situation is affecting you.

Report and Support Report and Support is the university's online reporting portal for sexual violence, harassment or hate crime.

Student Union Advice Centre The Advice centre offer free, confidential advice to Sheffield Hallam University Students. They provide with student funding, housing, academic issues, or anything in between. The Advice Centre is also a designated hate crime reporting centre
Make a complaint If you wish to make a complaint about the conduct of another student or staff member, then you can do this through contacting Hallam Help, via the Hallam Help Portal, through your Student Support Adviser or directly to the Student Policy and Compliance team by emailing
Sheffield Nightline A confidential listening and information service run by trained volunteer students at both Sheffield Hallam University and the University of Sheffield, Calls are anonymised so volunteers won't know your number or identity.
